Advanced surfers perform powerful, linked maneuvers such as sharp cutbacks, snaps, floaters, and tube rides in a broad range of conditions including powerful and overhead waves. The work shifts to refinement: timing, power generation, and adapting to each break. Many advanced surfers still use coaching for video analysis, competition prep, or to break through plateaus.
This is also the level where surfers explore specialties like barrel riding, big-wave surfing, or contest surfing under the ISA / WSL framework, each with its own coaching and camps.
