Intermediate surfers reliably read the lineup, take off on green waves in both directions, generate speed by trimming, and begin performing basic maneuvers: bottom turns, top turns, and cutbacks. You can surf a wider range of conditions and may move to a shorter, more responsive board. This is where surfing becomes about style and flow rather than just standing up.
Coaching at this level focuses on technique refinement through video analysis, turn mechanics, and wave selection, and on safely handling bigger or more powerful surf.
